Her Rural Heart works together as a team to bring you content that helps you know you’re in the right place to gather and grow together. Each of us bring unique talents and gifts to the table. We’re friends, sisters and most importantly sisters in Christ. We invite you in for real life, fun, growth and a place to feel safe to share your life too!
The Social Butterfly
Laura is the one you’ll find on the social media pages, teaching classes, writing and most likely seen sporting a SnapChat filter. She is truly the Hicks from the sticks and is thankful every day God put her exactly where He did!
She is NOT the one to ask about baking, gardening, canning, sewing, etc. But she can sew up a sheep faster than most!
She loves community and is passtionate about linking arms with other women to help lift each other up in Christ!!
If you love Laura’s devotionals in the membership don’t miss out on the chance to read her book “Ripples – learning to let go of the past and leave a new legacy“.
Wife to Mike and mama to 2 adult sons, Dustin and Brady. Lives way out in the sticks of western South Dakota raising cattle and sheep as well as training Border Collies.
The Practical, Get to the point one!
I enjoy gardening, baking, reading, repurposing, teaching and listening. As my writing and teaching styles will confirm, I am to the point. This does not (by any means) mean that I do not enjoy all of your wonderful stories (that’s the listener in me). I look forward to hearing all of them!
As we gather and grow, from every corner of the earth, my prayer is that the spiritual growth we experience and see in one another will be a light in the world.
I have lived from rural to urban areas but has settled now in rural Colorado to help care for my aging Mother. In addition, my youngest son has Down Syndrome, this has taught me to persist in getting things done.
The good news is, At Her Rural Heart, we will be in this together to hold each other up and to celebrate the life God has given us!
God created us to live in fellowship and community. At Her Rural Heart we’re grateful for all the women who come alongside and help sharpen each other!
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)
God created women unique. He’s gifted her with strong hands and a soft heart. As women, we’re each equipped with special talents, personalities and strengths. When we celebrate those differences and lift each other up we glorify God!
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (NIV)
God calls us to love the world and be the hands of feet of Jesus while not conforming to the world. As Her Rural Heart women we get to meet people where they are and let them see Jesus in us.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 (ESV)
